‘GIN FAN’
Being a gin drinking and staying in the area I had heard about this place from a friend. They have a great little pantry full of gin within the bar that you can go take a look and sniff see what takes your fancy. With some very knowledgeable staff and an opportunity to do a taste test of a selection of your choice. Gin drinkers dream. Worth a visit if your in the area, they also serve food however a cannot comment on taste as I was there purely there for the drink. But smelt and looked good. Friendly staff and very welcoming.

‘NICE ATMOSPHERE – CHECK OUT THE GINS’
Went for a group meal after shooting locally. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere with plenty of places for a cosy chat and drink. Food was good and the opportunity to blend your own bottle of gin will definitely bring me back.

‘CHIN,CHIN – PICK YOUR GIN!’
What a gem of a place! If you don’t like gin, go anyway – it’s picture-perfect, full of character and has a wonderful atmosphere. The bar is comfortable, certainly very conducive to a jolly night, and the food is fabulous. If you DO like gin, brace yourself, the Gin Pantry has over 350 varieties, an impressive sight. It is well worth doing the gin-tasting experience, we found it great fun and amazingly informative. A group of us went for my partner’s birthday and we had a fabulous time. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and surprised us by transforming the gin-tasting room into a private dining room for our party while we were ensconced in the bar – it was perfect. Suffice to say we were impressed enough to book a return visit for the ‘blend-your-own’ gin experience. I wasn’t even a great fan of gin beforehand but have become a willing convert. The four-poster room is very nice but there is no fridge or mini-bar. Other than that, I can find no fault whatsoever

‘DELIGHTFUL LUNCH WITH … ‘
I had lunch in The Cotswold Plough Restaurant with my sister and American friend. In truth we ate in the hotel bar before a delightful burning log fire, surrounded by old wood and antiquities and with the remarkably well-stocked Gin Pantry close by! Everyone was most welcoming and discretely attentive, the food was good and the gin (so I am told; I was driving so did not partake…) was a stimulating adventure! It was a most enjoyable lunch and we agreed that we’d be back!

‘GIN EXPERIENCE’
I had business nearby and booked three nights in the hotel. Rooms great and exactly what I needed for a short stay. However I was over the moon to discover there was a gin pantry. I will be coming back to try the 300 gins I didn’t get the chance to test over the three days but the ones I tried were phenomenol!! For those people who say they don’t like gin, then keep trying all the different gins with combinations of different tonics and you’ll find one that you like.

‘RELAXING WEEKEND’
I chose this hotel from previous reviews, and they are accurate. Great staff, interesting building, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was great, although a little warm, nothing opening a window didn’t fix! We are in the restaurant and again this was very good. The Gin pantry is awesome, even if you just have a look, it’s a Wow! Thank you all for making our weekend so relaxed.

‘INN, WITH THE GIN CROWD’
If Hollywood were asked to build the perfect English country pub. This would be it. As well as a bar, it has hotel rooms, a restaurant and, a special little area called a gin room. It’s a small 6ft by 6ft space decorated floor to ceiling with shelves of gin. Every single gin you can imagine and more. I was here just for lunch. I’d like to come back for the gin tasting evenings. Research purposes! Lunch was fish and chips. Dessert a ginger cheese cake. The Plough serves top quality food in a historic setting. As we know, Hollywood is pretty much all surface. Thankfully this place has real depth. I’m coming back ASAP for the education.

‘A NICE RESTAURANT WITH GIN ON THE SIDE’
The most memorable thing about this restaurant for us was the nibbles, we had the Whitebait and half pint of prawns, which were delicious, also I had a gin and tonic which was lovely however I can not remember what I had, it would be helpful if they wrote down what they had given you so you had life a membership card and could have a different gin on your next visit.

‘QUIET MONDAY EVENING’
I had just moved to the area and decided to try The Plough, after great recommendations it was a must go. We turned up without a reservation and were offered the bar area or restaurant, we chose the latter although very quiet with only one other table dining. The menus are very oversized for what’s on them, I don’t eat fish and the pheasant wasn’t available leaving me with 3 choices for a main meal. I chose the lamb and it was delicious. My friend chose the seafood gumbo and was a little confused when it turned out being more of a thin soup after it being described to us as a thick broth. This place looks absolutely beautiful and the staff are charming, a real Cotswold gem. A must go for gin lovers too!

‘A GREAT PLACE’
I love eating at this place. Fantastic food, good service, nothing to fault. I always take visitors to eat lunch there, and the evening meals are just great too! I live in the village and if I have a business meeting, there is no better place to take a client or colleague.

Dined here in a party of 17 for lunch. Fabulous meal, great selection of food and beautiful location. We enjoy a relaxing afternoon sitting in the sunshine afterwards on the terrace. Love love love the Gin Pantry and will definitely be back for an overnight stay! Thanks to all the staff
